City of West Monroe Awarded $1.5 Million Grant Through Community Infrastructure Fund
Second Consecutive CIF Award Advances City’s Infrastructure Goals

Washington, D.C. — Capitol Funding Solutions (CFS) is pleased to announce that the City of West Monroe, LA, has been awarded $1,559,009 through the Delta Regional Authority’s Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF). This marks the second consecutive year that West Monroe has received funding from the CIF program, highlighting the City’s commitment to strengthening local infrastructure.
AWARD HIGHLIGHTS
The awarded funds will support critical upgrades to the West Monroe Wastewater Treatment Plant, including construction of a new discharge point and chlorine contact chamber, re-piping of the existing discharge from the Sparta Reuse Facility, installation of a secondary discharge structure and flow meter, armoring of the outfall ditch, rebuilding a portion of the levee, and adding chemical injection systems and associated piping. The project will enhance environmental protection for the Ouachita River and improve wastewater treatment services for more than 14,700 households and businesses across Ouachita Parish.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) makes investments across 255 counties and parishes in seven states to improve quality of life and create economic opportunity. CIF funds community and regional projects, such as basic public infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, and flood control projects. In FY25, 24 projects were selected for funding, with a total investment of nearly $29 million.
This investment represents a significant step forward in strengthening West Monroe’s infrastructure, protecting natural resources, and ensuring long-term resilience for the community.
