PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Fertilizer Investment & Expansion for Long-term Domestic Supply (FIELDS) Program supports projects that expand or establish independent domestic fertilizer production capacity to strengthen the U.S. fertilizer supply chain. The program prioritizes fertilizer manufacturing that is:

Independent of dominant fertilizer suppliers

Made in America
-
Innovative
-
Energy dominant and secure
-
Farmer focused
Program funding supports projects that significantly increase domestic fertilizer manufacturing capacity and availability, including:

Expansion or modernization of existing facilities
-
Construction of new domestic production facilities
-
Shovel-ready projects capable of rapidly increasing domestic supply
-
On-site fertilizer terminals and transportation infrastructure that improve supply chain efficiency
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
Eligible activities include:

Construction of new facilities or acquisition of existing facilities to expand production capacity, including land acquisition

Pre-development activities, including engineering and professional services
-
Modernization or expansion of existing facilities, including building modifications and new construction
-
Purchase or modernization of manufacturing equipment
-
Installation of equipment and technology that improves processing, worker conditions, or safety
-
Projects that ensure compliance with packaging, labeling, or occupational safety requirements
